Become a private investigator, check emails, look for clues, and gather digital evidence to submit a report for investigation, or remove it from the database, but be careful, hackers are out to prevent you from pursuing these reports.

Primary Features:

  • Realistic desktop environment with draggable windows, sound effects, notifications (in-game), and more.
  • Randomly generated suspects, emails, crimes, descriptions, and more.
  • Various applications to search for clues and evidence based on real-life applications.
  • Endless entertainment to kill time, the only limitation is your battery life, the more reports you incorrectly file the more it will go down; leaving you vulnerable for attacks.
  • Write notes, check emails, search databases and social media, and more.
  • Prevent attacks on your system; hackers will attempt to stop you from gathering evidence, the more reports you file the more attackers will take notice, beware.
  • Tested and runs with every browser we tested it on (including on Steam Deck and mobile), it does not require a connection and we collect/share no data, the game was also tested with various website/CSS theme changer extensions and was successful; meaning that users should be able to modify the colours. The game works with touch screen devices, though it is not recommended on mobile due to the screen size, and windows may not be draggable rendering it difficult to complete tasks.
  • Moddable, the code was made with the idea that users may wish to alter the game however they like, we've tried to keep everything as simple and straightforward as possible, whether you wish to simply adjust times, penalties, add new character traits, and more, our game is also your game, all we ask is that you consider supporting us if you find yourself enjoying it.

How To Play / Tutorial

Reported aims to be simple, yet is complex behind-the-scenes, upon logging in to your desktop (password can be anything), you will start working right away with an email being sent to your inbox, you can click on the notification or the email icon in the panel/taskbar. Read the email closely to understand the suspect's description, accusation, the scenario, and more. From there, open the Civilian Database and locate the correct person of interest, note the full name and enter it into the User DB (Database). Once you have copied the User ID after entering the required pin, head over to the Browser and search the ID. From the Browser you can access and collect information, and match it with the email, for evidence however, you must check the person's Twatter using the Twatter Tag (e.g., @rf7ba3w) and Search History using their Phone Number (e.g., (123) 456-7890), if you notice anything suspicious, or anything matching the person in the database with the suspect, drag the Twatter window/application and/or the Search History window/application to the email attachments, then drag the Email window/application to either the Submit or Trash options (lower right side of the system). You will be notified if the person from the database matches the person of interest, if correct; authorities will take over and an arrest warrant will be issued using the details you provided, if incorrect; authorities will still act but you will receive a penalty for directing them to the wrong person. As you progress, or as you make mistakes, attackers will become aware of your reports and will attempt to stop you from filing more.

About

Reported is a simple investigative game, but utilises randomly generated methods to create different scenarios. Users need to check their to-do list, check emails, search various databases and online social interaction platforms, and more, to gather evidence to determine if the suspect should be further investigated by authorities or if the report should be archived/trashed, but as the user progresses they become more open to attacks by hackers. Reported is similar to online "hacking simulators", "hacker simulators", "investigator simulators", "dispatcher" games, and more, it is inspired by the Steam game "Scrutinized".
